Passivity-based control of a wound-rotor synchronous motor

چکیده
This paper presents a new nonlinear passivity-based controller for a wound rotor synchronous machine, acting as a motor drive. The control objectives are stated in the dqframe, and the port-controlled Hamiltonian model is also obtained. A power flow analysis allows to state the control goals in terms of reactive power compensation and ohmic losses reduction. From the Hamiltonian structure, the Simultaneous Interconnection and Damping Assignment (SIDA-PBC) technique is used to compute the control action, which results in a controller with a simpler architecture than the standard one for this class of machines, able to cope with both positive and negative external mechanical loads and having thus bidirectional power capabilities. The robustness of the control action is also taken into account in the design procedure. Finally, the computed controller is validated via numerical simulations.

متن کاملNovel Unified Control Method of Induction and Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motors
Many control schemes have been proposed for induction motor and permanent magnet synchronous motor control, which are almost highly complex and non-linear. Also, a simple and efficient method for unified control of the electric moto are rarely investigated. In this paper, a novel control method based on rotor flux orientation is proposed. The novelties of proposed method are elimination of q-ax...

This paper represents the performance of a squirrel-cage High Temperature Superconducting Induction/ Synchronous Motor (HTS-ISM) based on nonlinear electrical equivalent circuit. The structure of the HTS-ISM is the same as that of the squirrel-cage type induction machine, and the secondary windings are fabricated by the use of the HTS wires. It has already been shown that based on the experimen...
متن کاملRobust Control of Encoderless Synchronous Reluctance Motor Drives Based on Adaptive Backstepping and Input-Output Feedback Linearization Techniques
In this paper, the design and implementation of adaptive speed controller for a sensorless synchronous reluctance motor (SynRM) drive system is proposed. A combination of well-known adaptive input-output feedback linearization (AIOFL) and adaptive backstepping (ABS) techniques are used for speed tracking control of SynRM. The AIOFL controller is capable of estimating motor two-axis inductances ...
متن کاملPerformance Improvement of a Slotted Solid Rotor Induction Motor with High Temperature Superconder Coating
This paper analyzes an induction motor with high temperature superconducter (HTS) coated slotted solid rotor. By slotting the solid rotor, the electromagnetic torque near synchronous speed will increase but the starting torque will decrease. To improve starting torque, rotor slots are coated with HTS materials. Using HTS material vary the rotor resistance to great extends in starting step and t...
